It's quite ironic that you, as the floating city, are represented as a saviour by the denizens below, while you drain their lakes, eradicate forests and eat all the berries at a prodigious rate to feed an ever growing monstrosity hovering above them.Airborne Kingdom: The Lost Tundra Update Out Now on PC The free DLC adds a frosty new biome and a host of challenging twists to the flying city builder You will have to plot your course carefully, alternating your planes between different resources and "negotiate" (press a few buttons, really) with the locals. This is a pensive, meditative exercise of going from point A to point B, while managing resources that are constantly diminishing. All the resources that are necessary are outside of the floating microcosm, which sufferers no accidents or challenge once it is completed. People choosing this game while thinking of the glorious days of Stratosphere: Conquest of the Skies would not find a modern substitute here. Second of all, this is not a city building game, or a tactical game. A prophecy is mentioned, and largely drives the story, but other than that the player is the only thing moving, acting and reacting in this game. There is nothing that can apparently challenge the sky city as it roams the landscape, stripping it of its resources. With art that can overcome technical limitations, and a storytelling so short you can write it on the back of a postcard, you will still find yourself looking for an answer in this game.įirst of all, there is no antagonist in this game, or even in the world building. ![]()
